Introduction

If you're reading this, something's been quietly off for a while. Maybe it's anxiety that's tightened around your chest, a burnout that no amount of rest seems to touch, or a voice in your head that tells you you're not quite good enough. Maybe you're the one everyone relies on, the capable one, the one who holds it together, and you're running on empty underneath.

You don't have to be in crisis to come. Most of my clients aren't. They come because they've noticed a pattern, because something isn't working anymore, because they're tired of carrying it alone.

What I do

I work with you to look at the patterns that are shaping how you think, feel and behave. Many of these patterns started early, in the way you learned to cope, the messages you picked up about yourself and the world, the ways you learned to survive. They made sense once. They kept you safe. But now, many of them are getting in the way. They're showing up as self-doubt, as anxiety, people-pleasing, as a relentless inner critic, as difficulty trusting others, as burnout.

What I'm looking for in the room is the child in the adult sitting across from me. The part of you that learned to be small, or to perform, or to keep the peace, or to never ask for help. That part has been protecting you for a very long time. We don't judge it or try to get rid of it. We just understand it, acknowledge what it was trying to do, and help you decide what you need now.

We work together to understand where these patterns come from, why they're still there, and what you actually want to keep and what's ready to go. There's no blame in this. No judgment. Just clarity and choice.

What sessions are like

Individual sessions are 55 minutes, £55 each, in a comfortable, non-clinical room in Nantwich or online via Google Meet across the UK. We start by talking about what's brought you and what you're hoping to get from therapy. I listen more than I talk. I move at your pace. I celebrate your wins properly, and I challenge you kindly when I think it's in your interest.

This is a space where you get to be exactly as you are. You don't have to have it figured out. You don't have to be coherent or polished or hold yourself together. You can fall apart here if you need to.

A note on honesty

My style is warm, friendly, human and down to earth. I'm not clinical or distant. I won't pathologise you or make you wrong for the things you feel or the patterns you're in. But I also won't tell you what you want to hear if I think it's not in your interest. I'll be honest with you, kindly, about what I'm seeing.

If something's been quietly off for a while and you're done ignoring it, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Specialisations and Expertises

Specialisation

I specialise in working with adults who are quietly burning out, the capable ones who hold it all together on the outside and feel like they're barely managing underneath. Most of my clients come for anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, and the relentless inner critic that tells them they're not quite good enough.

The issues I see most often are perfectionism and self-criticism, the feeling of being an imposter despite evidence otherwise, difficulty saying no and setting boundaries, and exhaustion from managing emotions and logistics while running on empty. Life transitions, loss, depression, and difficulty trusting others also feature significantly in the work I do.

What to expect in terms of sessions

This varies considerably. Some people come for a focused piece of work over 6 to 12 sessions, particularly when addressing a specific anxiety or life transition. Others stay longer, especially when working through deeper patterns or the accumulated weight of burnout. A few clients continue with ongoing maintenance sessions monthly or quarterly, to keep the progress tended and check in as life changes.

I don't prescribe a number at the outset. We'll talk about what feels right as we go, and I'm honest about whether I think we're moving at a pace that's working. The work sometimes happens quickly once you understand where a pattern came from. Sometimes it takes longer because there are layers to untangle.

Most people know within the first 3 to 4 sessions whether this feels like the right approach and whether they want to continue.

Most common issues I support people with:

Anxiety & The Overactive Mind
You're caught in loops of worry, health anxiety, or a constant sense of tension. Your mind won't quiet. You've tried everything to logic your way out of it, but anxiety doesn't respond to reason. It's exhausting and isolating. What we do is help you understand what's underneath the anxiety, what it's trying to protect you from, and give you back some choice about whether you want to stay in that pattern or find a different way.

Burnout & Running On Empty
You've been the capable one for so long that you've forgotten what rest feels like. You manage everything, you hold it together, everyone relies on you, and you're running on fumes. No amount of time off fixes it because the pattern runs deeper than tiredness. It's about a belief that your worth depends on what you produce, or that you're not allowed to need things. We work with that belief, and with building a different relationship to rest and your own needs.

The Relentless Inner Critic
There's a voice in your head that's never satisfied. Nothing you do is quite good enough. You second-guess yourself constantly. You're your harshest judge. That voice shows up as perfectionism, as imposter syndrome, as prople-pleasing, as difficulty trusting your own judgment. We help you understand where that voice came from, what it was trying to keep you safe from, and how to have a gentler conversation with yourself.

Difficulty Trusting & Connecting
You struggle to let people in. Maybe you're afraid of being hurt, or abandoned, or found out. Maybe you learned early that trusting people was dangerous. So you hold back, or you perform, or you keep things surface-level. The loneliness of that is real. We work with the part of you that learned to protect itself that way, and help you decide what closeness and trust might be possible now.

Life Transitions
A significant change has happened, a relationship ended, a job shifted, a version of yourself changed. The ground underneath you feels uncertain. You're not sure who you are anymore or how to move forward. Sometimes this surfaces as depression, sometimes as anxiety, sometimes as a kind of numbness. We work with you to make sense of what's shifted and help you find your footing in the new shape of your life.

Fees

I offer a free 15-minute introductory video call so we can get a feel for each other and whether we're a good fit. There's nothing to prepare, it's just a chance to say hello and talk about what's brought you.

If you'd like to go ahead, our first proper session is 55 minutes, £55. This gives us both a real sense of whether this feels like the right fit and how you'd like to work together.

All subsequent sessions are 55 minutes at £55 per session. I encourage clients to start with weekly sessions initially. This helps us build rapport and relationship quickly, and it tends to get to the heart of what's going on much more effectively. Weekly sessions create the momentum and consistency the work needs, particularly in the early stages.

After you've established some momentum, or if weekly doesn't work with your life or budget, fortnightly sessions can be considered. We'll talk about what feels right as we go.

I'm happy to discuss fees and payment methods when you get in touch.
