Online therapy and counselling
My name is Helen Arthy. I am BACP registered, fully qualified counsellor and therapist.
I offer online counselling sessions using Skype, which you can use for free. This requires you having access to a private room and a good internet connection.
Counselling provides you with an opportunity to talk confidentially to someone who is trained to listen and help you gain a greater understanding of yourself and the challenges you might be facing.
As an Integrative Humanistic counsellor, my focus is on working in the present, with what you are facing right now. I might give you general information relating to your circumstances, but will not advise or try to tell you what you should do.
My aim is to help you find your own path to a better present and future. Throughout our work together, I encourage feedback from you about what helps and what doesn’t. This also helps me make sure the work fits your needs.
Counselling for expatriates
I also offer online (Skype) counselling to expatriates and their families abroad, as well as to returning expatriates. You can get support wherever you are in the world.
Having lived, worked and raised a family overseas in unstable and conflict-affected countries for over 15 years, I am especially aware of the challenges of this kind of environment and of accessing appropriate support. For returning expats, I also know how hard it can be readjusting to life in your home country.
If you feel that you would like to get a clearer understanding of your situation and find a better way of coping or resolving your difficulties, then talking confidentially to a counsellor might be the way forward.
Before becoming a counsellor, I lived in Africa and Asia working for NGOs, the UN and Donor Agencies for over 15 years. I also had my children during this time and know what it is like to bring up a family in such environments.
I am now based in Dorset, UK. Alongside my private practice, I work part time as a counsellor for young people in a secondary school.
