Counselling Truro

My name is Lorraine. I have had twenty-five years experience working in the NHS directly with patients of all ages and abilities. This background gives me a solid grounding in my approach to counselling.

I know how to work with people and communicate effectively.

My own counselling journey started with a need to better understand myself and my grief. Mine was a story of compounded grief with a string of bereavements. So, I know about Grief and its many facets.

Aside from being an Audiologist, I am a Registered Counsellor and before this trained as a Complementary Sound Practitioner.  This makes me somewhat unique, being dual trained in different Sound and Hearing modalities. My practice is steeped in empathy and communication. Sometimes we struggles to find the right words and I can help you express yourself.

I have worked for Cruse as a Bereavement volunteer and work as a School Counsellor working with young people to help improve emotional and mental wellbeing. Although 'Bereavement' lead me into counselling, I have also helped young people and adult clients with the many other extremes and challenges we may face in our everyday lives.

I am interested in working with Adults (18yrs+)

If you would like to ask further questions or make an appointment, even to touch base for a free 10 mins consultation. Please contact me. (Response within 48hrs)

Online therapy

I work via video sessions (face-to-face) using either Zoom or Doxy.Me but I can also do telephone sessions if this is your preference. Session length is the same; 50 minutes. I will send you my contact details for counselling. With Zoom the link will take you to opening a free account which is easily done. With Doxy.Me there is no need to open an account, the link takes you straight into our meeting.

Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic

My adult online work is dealing with the together-alone paradox which the Covid pandemic brings.
