Lorraine Golding | Person Centred Counsellor
Leave a message and I will contact you as soon as possible.
I believe in the ability to overcome challenges . Whatever your concern, you don't need to be alone.
If it feels daunting or impossible at the moment then counselling may be an avenue for you to explore?
Why choose me? I'm Lorraine with years of experience working with different age groups and lots of transferable skills. I work as a person-centred counsellor seperate to my audiology work, hold a more holistic view of working with the person and the unique relationship we share.
My practice is open-minded, warm-hearted and non- judgemental.
I have a maturity and gentleness that people find refreshing.
You will be held safe in a counselling session with me and offered the time and space to explore in depth.
How can counselling help? Basically its about you. I will not tell you what to do nor give answers, our work together is about finding your way and making changes that feel right.
Its about empathy - communication and finding balance. Sometimes it can be the difficult unsaid stuff which is the hardest to talk about that holds the most energy. It can leave us conflicted, guilty, ashamed, remorseful and a whole host of other emotions in our lives.
The most important thing is 'you don't have to be in, or on the verge of crisis before having therapy.
You might be feeling dissatisfied with life or seeking balance in life but know you don't have to face this alone.
Who do I want to work with? Young People 18+, Adults and Elders. Growing work with baby loss; both individually and as a couple.
What to expect in your first session?
I can offer;
- a safe confidential space to help you explore emotional problems
- help you make sense of the world
- help you explore feelings and thoughts to resolve emotional distress
I work with open sessions and planned reviews to meet your individual needs. This depends on your original enquiry (Presenting issue) and what you want to achieve from counselling. We can talk about expectations, exactly what you want to achieve from therapy and how long this might take. I can also offer one-off sessions for those clients wanting to try first before commiting.
If you are ready to get started, all enquries warmly recieved. Send me an email or leave a voice message with your contact phone number and I will respond normally within 48hrs.
Many thanks for taking the time to read my profile.
I offer support. Extend a helping hand in such challenging times. My online therapy is via Zoom, Doxy.Me, or telephone sessions. I can also do 'Walk & Talk therapy' in and around Truro if this is your preference?
Sessions last 50 minutes (known as the counselling hour)
Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic
We are still in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Some counsellors have returned to face-to-face working but for me I feel the safest alternative is online work for the foreseeable future.
